Second Demolition in Beit Hanina in Two Days
A 3 floor home was demolished today in Beit Hanina. Each floor measured 250 square meters (total 750 square meters) and held two residential units; of the total 6, two were inhabited and four were under construction. Two families resided on the first floor: the Mansour Abu-Sara family, a newlywed couple; and the 7 member Qarich family, including children ranging from 5 to 18 years of age. The demolition commenced at approximately 9:00 AM and was completed in a matter of hours. The total annual demolition count in East Jerusalem is now up to 90 and includes 53 residential units. This number reflects a modification to yesterday’s data due to the recent inclusion of residential units under construction. An example would include the second and third floors destroyed in today's demolition--one of which was to hold the future home of the Abu-Sara family.
